More than 130 people joined the “We Own the Building” celebration Friday afternoon (9/21)! Everyone enjoyed some fabulous Merc-made layer cakes (white and vegan chocolate), gluten free cookies, assorted cheeses, crackers, veggies and hummus as well as delicious beverages. Attendees registered to win $50 Merc Gift Cards and took home I Heart The Merc bumper stickers and buttons. Board Members and Candidates were decked out in party hats and they, with the assistance of a bunch of kids and kids at heart, created a ‘train’ to wrap bright green crepe paper around the poles in the Grand Aisle which Board President Eileen Horn and General Manager Rita York ceremoniously cut with some sharp garden shears on loan from Cottin’s Hardware. A good time was had by all!
