Local Easy Caprese
This caprese is so delicious and easy to make. It's literally as easy as 1, 2, 3! It makes a great side and the basil and tomatoes can be found grown by local farmers.
Ingredients (in order of use):
Heirloom or plum tomatoes, sliced about 1/4-inch thick
Whole milk mozzarella, sliced about 1/4-inch thick
Whole, fresh basil leaves
Balsamic vinegar and oil, vinaigrette, or reduction
Salt and pepper to taste
Layer the tomatoes, mozzarella slices, and basil leaves.
Drizzle with dressing of choice.
