Right now we have delicious pears from local growers. There are two varieties of Asian pears, the hosui and shinseko, which are more crisp than a typical pear. When they begin yielding to pressure, they're close to being overripe and should be eaten as soon as possible. They have an incredibly sweet flavor and are juicy. The Starking pears are a more typical variety and tend to be more tender and soft. We also have the more familiar Bosc, which, again, is more crisp and firm than other pears. No matter what pear you choose, you can almost always bet that you'll be taking home the tastiest, most fresh pear, grown right here in Kansas!
