Product of the Week
The Merc's meat & seafood department is proud to have our Merc-made Bratwurst selected as the store's “Product of the Week”.
Here in The Merc's meat & seafood department, we hand craft three different types of bratwurst with our tried and true spice blend. We offer pork, beef and chicken beer bratwursts with each having a cold splash of local wheat ale beer.
If you enjoy a full and hearty meal, the bratwurst will stand out on any dinner plate. You can slice them into nice wedges and serve them with steamed brussels sprouts and sauerkraut or peeled from the casing and sautéed and served over a bed of penne pasta. If you like that something extra, try braising them on the stove top in a bit of beer or dry wine and serve with a wilted bed of leafy greens or coleslaw.
If you are looking for that crisp bite of fresh beer bratwurst, simply fry these right in the frying pan or grill right them on the rack. There is no need to boil these incredible dogs; they will do just fine with direct heat. Our bratwurst is great served straight with a dollop of Dijon mustard as well as on a toasted bun with all the fixings. Brats are the perfect vehicle for exploring the vast array of condiments available at The Merc such as horseradish mustard, wasabi mustard, habanero marmalade, chutneys and aiolis.
