Thanksgiving Catering Pick Up

This season’s holiday meals and desserts can be ordered through our online shopping portal starting November 1. Holiday meals are while supplies last, no substitutions. The last day to order is November 22 and pickup is Wednesday, November 27: 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. in Lawrence, and 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. in Kansas City. Our stores are closed on Thanksgiving Day — Thursday, November 28.

All co-op owners are invited to attend monthly board meetings, promoting transparency and accountability of the board with co-op owners.

Early in the agenda, the board reserves ten minutes of space to hear from owners who wish to address the board.

About the Board

The Merc Co+op's Board of Directors is comprised of nine co-op owners who are elected by the general ownership and serve a three-year term. Any co-op owner can run for a board position.

The board creates a set of policies to govern themselves and the General Manager, who provides the group with regular reports on store operations. The board delegates all operational matters to the General Manager.

Watkins Museum of History Exhibit Open House

The Watkins Museum of History is holding a free exhibit in their community gallery outlining the history of The Merc Co+op and featuring photos and co-op memorabilia. The exhibit will be open Saturday, September 28 – Saturday, November 16. An open house with refreshments is scheduled for Saturday, October 19 from 2 – 4 p.m. The Merc Co+op’s history is inextricably linked to the history of Douglas County. We are grateful to The Watkins Museum of History for their work preserving the stories that have shaped our community, including ours.
