Join Groundwork NRG this Earth Day for some fun in the sun at Jersey Creek Park.

At Groundwork, we know that vibrant greenspace is one of the things that makes a community thrive. Unfortunately, access to greenspace is all too often limited for those living in redlined, disinvested, and historically-marginalized areas like Northeast KCK. We believe that everyone deserves to experience the joy of being outside in nature. To help make our dream of access to greenspace throughout Northeast KCK a reality, we've arranged to plant twenty-five new shade trees in Jersey Creek Park.

The planting—with snacks from the co-op! - will last from 3-6pm. This is an opportunity to get hands-on experience creating new green infrastructure in the Northeast. No equipment or expertise is required to participate. The planting will take place near the intersection of Parallel Parkway and 11st Street, by the Spray Park. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided and social distancing observed.
