Buildings serve many purposes and functions.
700 Maine served as Turner’s Grocery, Bait & Tackle from 1933 to 1977. In the summer of 1977, the Community Mercantile purchased the building and operated there until 1993 when The Merc moved to 9th & Mississippi. Maine was then sold to Dan Rockhill and Associates who renovated it.
Most recently it has served as the home and art studio for Professor Richard “Rik” Dishinger. 700 Maine is for sale. Before the new owners move in, the Dishinger family, The Merc & Tom Harper invite you to an open house to celebrate its past as well as its future.
