What’s for Lunch? Contest Winners

Thank you so much to all the Explorers who submitted an entry into our What’s for Lunch? contest. How could we even choose a favorite? We couldn’t! So, we randomly drew six winners, three from each of our locations. Congratulations to Zoey, La'Asyia, & Laila, Lily, Salem, and Winona on being drawn as the winners!

As a thank you to all of our participants, you will receive a free small hot chocolate.

Be sure to scroll through and view all of our entries above. Get inspired and get to work packing your next healthy lunch!

Vegetable of the Month: Cucumbers!

IMG_4469.JPG
  • First, cucumbers are technically a fruit because their seeds are on the inside - true vegetables are things like carrots, celery, or beets which produce flowers that make seeds.

  • Did you know pickles are cucumbers? Cucumbers are jarred in vinegar and salt, which changes the texture and the taste AND then they last much longer!

  • There can be a 20° difference between the inside of a cucumber and the actual temperature outside - literally cool as a cucumber!

  • The heaviest cucumber on record was 23 lb and 7 oz!
