Local season is in full swing! From tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and cucumbers, to summer squash, melons and peaches - make the most of the abundant produce our farmers have to offer this month. This produce is perfectly ripe and delicious; and, when you put locally grown and raised food on your table, you become part of a sustainable local food system.

At the co-op we are committed to building relationships with our neighborhood producers, and August is peak local season. Now you can get to know them in our new blog series!

Meet Beisecker Farms - a small commercial apple orchard located near Baldwin City, Kansas owned and operated by Tim Beisecker and his wife Andrea Norris.

Their operation has grown from 24 trees in 1978 to over 300 trees and 13 varieties today. You’ll find up to eight of those at the co-op through the end of September.
