Brussels Sprouts are in the same plant family as cabbages!

Veggie of the Month: Brussels Sprouts

  • They are named after Brussels, the capital of Belgium.

  • Most brussels sprouts eaten in one minute: 31 (back in 2008)

  • Largest sprout ever grown: 18 pounds

  • Brussels sprouts may stink when you cook them because they are especially rich in nutrients known as glucosinolates, which contain sulfur (mostly when they are overcooked!)

Kids ages 12 and under are invited to become a Co+op Explorer!

To become a card-carrying Co+op Explorer, kids simply need to bring a parent or supervising adult to the customer service desk and ask to become a Co+op Explorer. Or, use our super easy online form. Each child will be issued their own super official Co+op Explorers card and passport!
