Valentine’s Day Sugar Cookies + Strawberry Pink Frosting
💖 Happy Valentine’s Day! 💖
Valentine’s Day is February 14, and many folks choose to share notes, gifts or treats with the people they care for. You can find a variety of things at the co-op to help celebrate the holiday, including all the fixings to replicate our bakery’s made-from-scratch Heart Shaped Sugar Cookies with Pink Strawberry Frosting.
Start with ready-to-bake cookie dough from the refrigerated section of our stores! Or, you can try making your own sugar cookie dough.
Bake your cookies according to the instructions and let them cool completely before you decorate.
While the cookies are cooling, you can make your frosting. This Pink Strawberry Frosting recipe from the co-op bakery is quick and easy!
Ingredients
1/4 lb (1 stick) of butter- room temperature
1/4 lb shortening
4 1/2 cups powdered sugar
About 1/4 cup strawberry purée (just blend a handful of strawberries till they are smooth!)
Instructions
Mix butter and shortening by hand or with a mixer.
Slowly add sugar and mix until uniform paste forms.
Then slowly add the purée, scraping the bowl often, until desired consistency is achieved.
When you’re decorating you can add more than one color of frosting or sprinkle. Use your creativity to make a beautiful cookie for yourself - or make them into cookie sandwiches! Then, share with your friends or family. You can even host your own Valentine’s Cookie Decorating Party!
